Coach Yo is passionate about developing young athletes and helping them reach their full potential. She loves the game of softball and empowering young women to fall in love with the process. Coach Yo’s magnetic personality will leave you feeling energized and confident after working out with her. Her energy is contagious, and she strives to be a good role model and example while keeping the big picture in perspective. She desires to grow the game in this area and teach proper fundamentals and mechanics. Many young athletes are not always able to make the jump and commitment to travel ball and she hopes to bridge that gap.

My daughter Ellie has been practicing at Home Turf for the last several months with her travel softball team under Coach Yo (Angela Buergler). The facility is modern, up to date, and offers batting cages as well as whole facility rentals. Coach Yo is one of the most encouraging coaches I have ever seen! Not only is she deeply knowledgeable about the game of softball, but she also uplifts the girls and provides a safe and fun environment for them to grow. Any player/family would be lucky to work with her on all aspects of the game. 

This facility is awesome for individual workouts or full team practices. The facility is a climate-controlled building with over 7,000 total square feet, of which 4,200 is synthetic turf. There are 2 batting cage lanes that measure 15’ W x 55’ L x 16’ H, and there is an additional 40’ W x 55’ L x 16’ H section that can be used for drills, pitching, strength and conditioning as well as speed training. The facility has tons of natural light and is a comfortable environment to train year-round. For teams and or individuals looking for training options, look no further, Home Turf has spared no expense in making this one of the BEST facilities in the region! 

Home Turf is an amazing practice facility with everything you could want as a youth softball coach. The space is highly configurable to match what I want to accomplish during practice. We can have multiple cages up to hit and pitch or clear the floor for a full infield workout. Other area practice facilities can't compete. The atmosphere at Home Turf also inspires my team to practice harder and faster. However, that could also be because Coach Yo is there sharing her knowledge as an ex-division one softball player, helping my team push their limits to improve. I am always so grateful for Coach Yo when she is around. And my parents love having space to hang out and watch practice from a safe distance in comfort. What Home Turf offers is truly unique. As a coach, you like to have options, and Home Turf gives us just that for practice.

When it comes to sports, Home Turf is the future for Valparaiso and surrounding areas! This brand-new facility has the highest quality of equipment needed when practicing your sport. Being a past college athlete myself, I have been to many facilities in my lifetime, and this one is the cleanest and most organized of them all. The owners have many accolades, both being D1 athletes. They know training and what it takes to improve your game. Coach Yo, (Angela) has been around the game of softball her whole life. Her knowledge of the sport is unmatchable. More importantly, besides being amazing athletes, the owners are amazing people! They are honest, have high integrity, and are very accommodating to one’s needs. Home Turf is an excellent addition to our community!
